Do you know what an F-stop is? How about exposure time?
In this photography study group we will cover topics such as learning to use digital cameras, photo composition, shooting modes, and lighting. There will be lots of hands on practice (inside and outside) with different subject matter: candids, portraits, nature, macro, etc.
Each class will have three parts: learning a new topic, critiquing photos students bring in from the previous session, and then going into Harvard Square to practice new techniques. There will be weekly homework in the form of photo assignments and probably some light reading. The instructor will choose a topic or subject for students to photograph on their own each week and display/discuss at the next study group. We will review each other's photos and provide helpful critique so everyone improves their skills throughout the semester.
